I can still remember being told by well-meaning adults in my life that “you can’t make money from your creative work.”
But is that really true?
In this episode, I trace back my beliefs about money and creativity and share what I’m learning about the inevitable connection between the two.

Movie Mike ranks his Top 10 Steven Spielberg movies he has seen the most. He talks about how Spielberg may be the most influential filmmaker ever, but why this ranking isn't just about "best”…it's about the movies he can't stop rewatching. From Jaws and Jurassic Park to underrated gems like Hook and Ready Player One, Mike breaks down the 10 Spielberg movies that have had the biggest impact on him and on the movies we watch today. In the Movie Review, Mike gives his thoughts on Spielberg’s new movie Disclosure Day. It’s about a meteorologist and a cybersecurity expert who find themselves at the center of a movement to expose the government's cover-up of extraterrestrial secrets. Mike shares why the movie let him down, what he feels Spielberg missed the boat on, and why Emily Blunt was the best part of the movie. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about Ridley Scott’s new film The Dog Stars starring Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley coming out later this summer. The movie tells the story of survivors of a deadly pandemic traversing a post-apocalyptic landscape to find the origin of a mysterious radio transmission.

What if the very thing mental health culture tells you to do—focus on your trauma, honor your feelings, explore your pain—is actually reinforcing the patterns that are keeping you stuck?
In this episode, Dr. Lee Warren and I tackle one of the most controversial (and most important) truths about how the brain works: where you put your attention literally shapes your reality. What you focus on expands. And if you're spending years focusing on your trauma, your pain, your "broken" parts, you're training your brain to keep running those patterns.
We talk about the observer effect from quantum physics, how the ACC (the social-emotional brain) operates at the subconscious level, and why your beliefs have to align with what Scripture says about you—not just intellectually, but at the deepest level where your brain is automating your identity.
This isn't about toxic positivity or pretending the pain isn't real. It's about understanding that constantly rehearsing "I AM anxious, I AM broken, I AM not enough" is literally giving your brain permission to keep being that. And there's a better way.
If you've ever felt like you've been "working on yourself" for years but you're still stuck in the same patterns, this episode will show you why—and what needs to shift.

Kat is feeling pumped and Amy is feeling shooketh because her son made coffee at church with his friends this morning like it was nothing. He's graduating in 2030 and apparently drinks coffee now…cool. Amy shares a study that found that women feel most fulfilled in their relationships when they get 47 minutes of undivided attention from their partner each day. And then Kat goes over some cognitive biases…the halo effect, the sunk cost fallacy, confirmation bias, zero sum bias, and a few others that will make you look at your own thinking a little differently. Some of these you already do without realizing it and once you see them you can't unsee them.
