Time Magazine's 2018 Person Of The Year: 'The Guardians & The War On Truth'

This morning, Time Magazine officially announced their Person Of The Year 2018 - 'The Guardians & The War On Truth'.

There are 4 covers of the magazine with different people on it -

- Jamal Khashoggi - columnist who was murdered recently inside the Saudi Arabia kingdom's Istanbul Consulate

- Wa Lone & Kyaw Soe Co - reporters who were convicted

- Maria Ressa - editor who covered the drug war of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte - he has gone as far as banning reporters from presidential events and called them "fake news". Ressa was convicted of tax fraud and could face up to 10-years

- The Capital Gazette - a newspaper

"The attack on the Capital Gazette newsroom made the U.S. the fourth-deadliest country for journalists this year, tied with Mexico, notorious for the dangers its journalists face. “You never know when or where you can get smacked,” says Ismael Bojórquez.

These are just a few of the stories about journalists this year who have been attacked for reporting and chasing down leads in a full magnitude of ways.

Every interesting choice for Time Person Of The Year for 2018 don't you think? But it's a good thing we are shedding light on this side of things especially in today's political climate.
