Heavy Social Media Use Linked To Loneliness & Depression

There is a new study out that linked loneliness and depression to heavy use of social media according to Tech Crunch.

The new study was done by the psychology department at Penn State that tested the harms of social media on mental/emotional on one's well-being. They tested about 143 students for 3 weeks who were only able to use social media apps for 30 minutes a day! That seems like nothing right?!

"They were monitored for a baseline before the experimental period and assessed weekly on a variety of standard tests for depression, social support and so on. Social media usage was monitored via the iOS battery use screen, which shows app use."

And they found 30 minutes of social media a day really improved the student's mental/emotional states overall but it will continued to be studied.

Could you cut down on your social media to 30 minutes a day?!
