Phoenix Native Chester Bennington Would Have Been 42 Years Old Today

Arizona lost a great man, father and rock star in late July of 2017.

Today, March 20th, 2018... would have been his 42nd birthday.

Chester Bennington, known for being the lead singer of Linkin Park, was also a Phoenix native with many local ties to a city he loved.

At the MTV Video Music Awards, Jared Leto, who paid tribute to the late singer, said it perfectly...

“In 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona, a child was born. He was precocious, full of life and determined and grew up to become the singer of one of the biggest rock bands in the history of music. His name was Chester Bennington and the band is Linkin Park,” Leto said.

In case you didn't know, Chester Bennington was born in Phoenix on March 20th, 1976 and he attended Centennial High School in Peoria, AZ as well as Greenway High School in Phoenix, AZ. He was also a co-owner for a tattoo parlor, Club Tattoo, which has six locations across the Valley.

At the time of his death... he and his wife were living in Gilbert.

His local ties to Phoenix run deep and many in the valley knew him as a loving friend, a dedicated father and a pioneer of the valley's local music scene. Today, we remember him and pay tribute to the singer from Phoenix who touched millions of lives. He leaves behind his wife, his beautiful six children and millions of dedicated, loving fans.

We miss you Chester, every day.
