Coldplay frontman Chris Martin stopped by the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One to riff a few iconic Coldplay classics, including a single featured on their forthcoming album!
The icon took a break from the group's ongoing world tour to deliver an unforgettable acoustic performance of 2014's "Sky Full of Stars," quickly transitioning to the piano to sing 2015's "Hymn for the Weekend," admitting he didn't look or sound his best, but that he was having a good time and was both happy and sad to be in Las Vegas.
Speaking directly to concertgoers, Martin hilariously joked that the rest of the band could not be present for this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival because they were getting "bikini waxes".
After chatting with the crowd, the artist went on to play 2017's "Something Just Like This" and took fans all the way back to 2008 with "Viva La Vida," claiming that people born within the last 15 years might not know the single, but people born before that would be extremely excited to hear it, and 2000's "Yellow."
The star brought the arena back to the present day with 2024's "We Pray" and surprised the audience with Elyanna to close out a refreshingly casual, yet dynamic set.
Martin sat down with iHeartRadio's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show in August to discuss the intricacies of the new single and the creation of Coldplay's forthcoming album, Moon Music, out this fall.
Other artists that took the stage as part of night two of this year's festival include Doja Cat, Keith Urban, The Weeknd, Halsey, and more!
If you missed any of the action this weekend, or just want to re-live it all, an iHeartRadio Music Festival special including highlights from the event will be available to stream on Hulu on October 7th.
