Why Miranda Lambert Is 'Not a Very Good Famous Person'

Miranda Lambert has been in the spotlight for more than a decade, but she admits fame is not her expertise.

In her new Redbook cover story, the country superstar reveals why she’s “not actually a very good famous person at all” and what surprised her about the music industry.

“I hate cameras. I don’t love the spotlight,” she says. “It was a big shocker to me that the music business is 80 percent business and 20 percent music. I was like, ‘I didn’t know I signed up for all this other stuff.’”

The “Tin Man” singer goes on to explain her ideal night in is the furthest thing from red carpets and flashing lights.

Shark Tank and yoga pants, and I’m the happiest person,” she says. “I watch Tiny House Nation on a Friday night, and I’m like, ‘This is it! Frozen pizza. Woo!’”
