3-year-old who was adopted during pandemic gets parade celebration

A 3-year-old toddler was recently adopted by a family in Florida and since she couldn’t have a traditional party she was celebrated with a drive by parade. Lynndsey and Jameson Wilson signed adoption papers for their new child Reney and were able to get loved ones and even law enforcement to drive by and celebrate her.

"She loved it," Lynndsey Wilson of Bradenton told “Good Morning America." "She asked, 'Can we do this again tomorrow?’"

The Wilsons had been fostering Reney since she was a baby and now she joins her new family along with her sister, Alexie.

"The day after Alexie's mom's rights were terminated was the day Reney was born," Lynndsey Wilson said to “GMA.” "We told our agency if she goes into foster care we want her to be placed with us.”

One More Child was the organization that had originally licensed the Wilsons as foster parents and helped facilitated the adoptions.

"At first it was a disappointing to know she wasn't going to have her day, but the support from the community rallying around her was more than she could've ever imagined," Walters told "GMA."
