Writer, director and character actor Harold Ramis has died. He was 69.
Ramis is best remembered for his roles in the comedies Stripes and Ghostbusters, but he also directed such classic comedies such as Caddyshack and Groundhog Day. In the last several years he directed in television working on four episodes of The Office.
Harold Ramis passed away in the early Monday morning of what’s called autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels. Ramis had been battling the illness since 2010.
