This morning we were introduced to an amazing couple, James & Dixie Brooks.  James is a 70 year old retired US Army Sgt Major who served in Vietnam and spent his entire career serving this country.  Due to unfortunate and unavoidable circumstances, James and Dixie have had to take physical custody of three of their young grandchildren and are working to gain custody of a fourth.  We brought them both on the air with us this morning to share their inspiring and selfless story.

James and Dixie didn't expect to add four young children to their family this at this stage of their retirement and, being that they're on a fixed income, they're struggling to provide their grandchildren with the proper needs to go back to school next week.

We immediately received a call from Mike Donley of Donley Service Center who made an extraordinarily generous donation of $500 to provide school supplies for the children and also offered to service all of the family's heating, A/C and plumbing at no cost.

We had several other KNIX listeners step up to provide assistance to the Brooks family and, as usual, we're simply in awe of the generosity of our KNIX family and couldn't be happier to connect James & Dixie with a few Helping Hands in our community.
