(KFYI News) The Cactus League has set another record.

More than 1.7 million fans over the span of 37 days went to watch the pre-season ballgames held around the state.

The 20,000 fan increase over last year's attendance brought a significant amount of money into the local economy. Studies indicated spring training last year was responsible for an economic impact of more than $600 million.

The Cactus League says it's expecting more fans next season due to the opening of the new Chicago Cubs spring training complex in Mesa.
