(Fox 10) CAMP VERDE, Ariz. -  The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped from the Camp Verde jail Saturday afternoon.

Wade Cole Dickinson, 28, was last seen in the area of Hwy 260 and Old Highway 279 in Camp Verde around 2:30pm. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit and running in an easterly direction.   Authorities say he was spotted late Saturday night near Interstate 17, but wasn't found after a search.

Dickinson is described as being 6’1” tall and 190 lbs, with brown hair and eyes.  The latest reports indicate Dickinson was seen wearing a white button-up shirt, khaki pants and dark socks.  He has cuts on his legs that were likely caused by barbed wire.

YCSO says Dickinson tried to steal a car from a business across the street from the jail after the escape. Residents in the area are asked to be extra vigilant while he is at-large. This includes being cautious when entering your car, locking your car/doors/windows at home, and not picking up hitchhikers or stopping if someone flags you down.

Dickinson was in jail on charges of fraud, theft, prohibited possession, and possession of dangerous drugs. He has family in the Camp Verde and Prescott Valley communities.

Anyone with information about this should call the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 771-3260.  A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
